SEVERAL local government units on Wednesday suspended work and classes following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck the province of Abra.

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong ordered the suspension of work and classes in the private and public sectors.

“As of today, as of this time, wala tayong serious damage, no injuries, no serious injuries reported except for one particular student na nag-panic doon sa Saint Louis University na tumalon,” Magalong said.

“Hindi namin alam kung ano ‘yung extent ng kanyang injury but she was already rushed to the hospital,” he added.

Abra Governor Dominic Valera also suspended work.

In Pampanga province, the Angeles University Foundation cancelled classes and office operations due to the quake.

The other LGUs that suspended work and classes are Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Lingayen, Pangasinan, Benguet and Mountain Province.
