SENATOR Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has urged Filipino youth to take an active role in shaping the country’s future, calling on them to face emerging challenges with courage, curiosity, and compassion.

In his message for National Youth Day, Pangilinan described Filipino youth as having “main-character energy,” underscoring their vital role as the country’s hope and future.

He said young Filipinos are facing major challenges, including the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI), the climate crisis, disinformation, and growing geopolitical tensions.

Pangilinan urged the youth to remain vigilant and engaged in national affairs, particularly as the country prepares for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).

He called on young voters to carefully scrutinize candidates and demand honest, truthful, and transparent governance from their leaders.

The senator also challenged young Filipinos to consider becoming the kind of leaders they want to see in government.

Pangilinan urged the youth to help fight corruption by speaking out against wrongdoing and protecting public funds from misuse.

He likewise encouraged them to develop new skills, prioritize their mental well-being, protect the environment, and remain grounded amid the rapid changes facing society.

The senator reminded the youth of their responsibility to the country, invoking the Filipino spirit of patriotism and urging them to remember the people and causes they are fighting for.

Pangilinan ended his message by encouraging young Filipinos to dream boldly, enjoy life, and use their generation’s voice as a powerful force for justice—not only in the Philippines but around the world.
