SENATOR HIGHLIGHTS SACRIFICES OF FILIPINO FAMILIES IN PURSUIT OF EDUCATION
SENATOR Bam Aquino underscored the sacrifices of Filipino parents and students in pursuing education, saying every graduation reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and hope.
In a social media post, Aquino shared that he feels a deep sense of excitement whenever he speaks before thousands of students, parents, and teachers during graduation ceremonies, noting that he, too, feels part of the celebration.
The senator pointed to the emotional moments often seen during graduations, especially parents quietly watching with tears of joy and pride as their children receive diplomas and medals.
Aquino said many parents he has met across the country share a simple yet heartfelt dream — for at least one of their children to finish school.
These encounters, he said, have strengthened his commitment to advocate for free college education, as many Filipino families continue to struggle with the high cost of schooling.
He also recognized working students and young Filipinos who balance studies and jobs to continue their education while helping support their families.
Aquino likewise paid tribute to individuals who returned to school after years of stopping due to work, family responsibilities, or financial constraints, saying their journeys prove that it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams.
He emphasized that graduations celebrate not only academic achievements, but also the love of parents, dedication of teachers, determination of students, and the hope that education brings to families.
The senator also congratulated graduates for their resilience amid rising living costs and economic challenges, noting that every diploma is a product of sacrifice, endurance, and aspiration.
According to Aquino, each graduation serves as a reminder that when Filipinos are given the opportunity to study, more dreams become attainable and more lives are transformed.
