SC EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR BAR EXAMINEES

/ 22 October 2021

THE DEADLINE for Bar examinees to pick their preferred testing site has been extended to October 24, the Supreme Court announced on Thursday.

The high court moved the deadline because of technical issues in the SC’s Bar Personal Login Unified System.

“In view of some technical issues in the BarPLUS, the Venue Matching Module shall close on Oct. 24, 2021, Sunday, subject to further extension if the technical issues persist. This supersedes the original Oct. 20, 2021 deadline,” Associate Justice and 2020/2021 Bar Chairperson Marvic Leonen said.

Leonen reiterated that the venue matching “shall not be on a first-come, first-served basis.”

He added that the system will process all choices simultaneously.

“All bar candidates will be given the opportunity to choose their local testing centers within the appropriate period,” Leonen said.

Last September, the high court moved the Bar exams from November 2021 to Jan. 16, 23, 30, and Feb. 6 next year because of the pandemic.

The court approved 24 testing venues in various provinces.
