RTU DECLARES ACADEMIC BREAK

/ 15 November 2020

THE RIZAL Technological University is set to implement an academic break and allow the entire school populace to recover from the effects of Typhoon Ulysses.

The break will be from November 16 to 22, according to the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

No academic-related activities will take place during the seven-day break for high school to college.

The same advisory said classes in graduate programs are not covered as sessions will return starting Monday.

“In light of recent Typhoon Ulysses that has left damages to property and stress to employees and students at high risk areas, it is imperative to prioritize the recovery of our home, mind and body,” the RTU-Flexible Learning System said on its Facebook page.

“Let us take this opportunity to recover at our own pace, reflect on the recent events to get better and wiser, and rekindle our desire to be of help to our colleagues and our students,” it added.

However, the break will result in an extension of RTU’s academic calendar to meet its prescribed contact hours, the school said.
