ROQUE OFFERS TO HELP NEXT DEPED CHIEF SARA DUTERTE

/ 12 June 2022

FORMER presidential spokesperson Harry Roque vowed to assist Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio at the Department of Education.

Roque, who lost in his senatorial bid, said he wanted to improve the quality of education in the country that he’s volunteering to help the department.

“Kaya ako po ay magbo-volunteer na maging very active sa Department of Education in whatever capacity I might be able to help,” he added.

Roque ran in the recent national elections under the UniTeam slate of President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.

Duterte-Carpio has been appointed as the next DepEd secretary under the Marcos administration.

Earlier, outgoing DepEd secretary Leonor Briones said Duterte-Carpio will be able to have a grasp of the programs of the department.

“She is very concerned about citizenship, about loyalty to the country beyond the usual academics. So she is not really a complete stranger,” she said.

Briones has high hopes Marcos will take care of the education department.
