QC IMPLEMENTS MORE SAFETY MEASURES FOR LIMITED F2F CLASSES

/ 7 December 2021

TO ENSURE everyone’s safety, the Quezon City government laid down additional guidance for students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel who will participate in face-to-face classes.

Mayor Joy Belmonte said that teachers and staff must all be fully vaccinated, while students must come from a fully-vaccinated household.

Participating learners must also reside within their school’s area.

“All learners and teachers and personnel will also have to undergo antigen testing. Our City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit will be going in their schools to test everyone to make sure that no one is infected with the virus,” she said.

A total of 224 students from Kinder to Grade 3 and 36 teachers and staff joined the resumption of physical classes in Payatas B Annex Elementary School.

In Bagong Silangan Elementary School, 388 Grade 3 learners and 55 teachers and non-teaching personnel participated in in-person classes.

The city government said that classes will be divided into morning and afternoon sessions.

Everyone will have to go through a strict health check and monitoring every day.

Safety officers will make sure that health protocols are implemented.

Each classroom will also be disinfected after every session.
