/ 27 January 2023

THE QUEZON City government will provide 50,000 tablets to students in 95 public schools.

Maricris Veloso of the QC Education Affairs Unit and James Lambengco of the Schools Division Office inspected the tablets to ensure that these are in good condition.

The tablets will be distributed to Grade 1 to Grade 3 students.

As of 2020, the city had distributed 309,054 tablets to students to support their distance and blended learning.

On the other hand, the local government held a consultation meeting with the police to discuss security and safety concerns following the death of a high school student in Culiat High School.

The meeting was attended by Veloso, Assistant City Administrator for Operations Albert Kimpo, Dr. Jenilyn Corpuz of the Schools Division Office, Rowena Macatao of the Social Services Development Department, and representatives of the QC Public School Teachers Association and QC Parent-Teachers Association.

Mayor Joy Belmonte instructed the departments in the city to develop appropriate measures for Children-at-Risk and Children in Conflict with the Law.
