KABATAAN Party-list Rep. Raoul Manuel on Friday called on the government to go after the officials involved in the procurement of overpriced laptops.

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee found the purchase of laptops irregular and recommended the filing of charges against some former and current officials of the Department of Education and Department if Budget and Management-Procurement Service.

“We welcome the results of the investigation and call for appropriate action on those responsible,” Manuel said.

“This firmly exposes the tip of the iceberg of a pattern of corruption yet to be fully investigated under the Duterte regime,” he added.

Manuel believes that top officials, including former President Rodrigo Duterte, should be held accountable for the anomaly.

“We challenge the current regime to leave no stone unturned in cleaning up corruption in past and present administrations,” he said.

“At a time where learning recovery is of an all time importance, we should not tolerate any form of corruption, especially that which directly siphons funds from our education programs,” he added.
