PRESIDENT DUTERTE ANNOUNCES A P33K ONE-TIME GRANT FOR OFW CHILDREN AS COLLEGE LEARNING SUBSIDY

COLLEGE level students who are children of overseas Filipino workers will receive a one-time grant of P30,000 subsidy for their education.

President Rodrigo Duterte announced the good news in a briefing at Malacanang, saying all children of OFWs who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic will be given the subsidy.

The government allotted a total of P1 billion for the 33,000 students.

“Ang tulong po sa edukasyon sa mga anak ninyo nito is a one-time grant of P30,000. The project will be allotted with the amount of P1 billion which will benefit about 33,000 students from OFW families,” said the Chief Executive.

Duterte also said the subsidy will be given to qualified beneficiary and can study in state universities and college or any private institutions recognized by the Commission on Higher Education.

OFWs may get more information on the matter through CHED, Department of Labor and Employment and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
