PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vetoed three provisions in the 2023 budget including the use by the Department of Education of the revolving fund of DepEd TV.

Marcos said that there is no law authorizing DepEd to establish a revolving fund for the purpose.

“The DepEd TV is not a business-type activity of the DepEd, which may be considered within the contemplation of the General Provision on Revolving Funds in the FY 2023 GAA, which permits the establishment of a revolving fund from receipts derived from business-type activities,” he said.

To keep students informed about the safety precautions during the pandemic, DepEd TV, the platform for multimedia classes, broadcasts instructions about Covid19.

Marcos also vetoed the Branding Campaign Program of the Department of Tourism and the use of income of the Department of Labor and Employment-National Labor Relations Commission.
