PBBM ORDERS PROBE INTO ZAMBOANGA SCHOOL SHOOTING
PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has directed law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the shooting incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) and determine measures to prevent similar incidents and ensure the safety of students in schools.
Marcos vowed to implement measures to make the country’s campuses safer.
“We will work with our schools and communities to strengthen the safeguards that protect our students and ensure that they can pursue their education without fear. Every Filipino family deserves that assurance,” the President said in a statement.
Marcos also expressed sympathy to the families of those who died in the shooting incident at AdZU.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro read a statement issued by the Office of the President, saying: “We grieve with the families and the entire Ateneo de Zamboanga community over a tragedy that should never have happened.”
“Our schools are where we entrust our students to learn, to grow, and to dream about the lives ahead of them. They must also be among the safest places in our country,” the statement added.
