PASIG CITY GOV’T OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP FOR PLP FACULTY

/ 30 January 2023

THE PASIG City government encouraged full-time faculty of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig to pursue their graduate studies.

Councilor Corrie Raymundo said the city government will give a P100,000 allowance to those who will take doctorate courses.

“We really want to raise the profile of our university’s faculty because we know they are the ones who impart knowledge to our children,” Raymundo, the chairperson of the City Council’s education committee, said.

“We encourage all the master’s degree holders to take up doctorate to the highest level of graduate studies,” the councilor added.

College faculty who will take graduate studies will be given study leave so that they can concentrate in finishing their doctorate degrees, Raymundo said.

“They will be given lesser units to teach, and when they reach dissertation they are now free for teaching for one semester,” she added.

The scholarship allowance will be given in two tranches — half at the end of the degree program and the other half after the faculty’s return of service for at least two years.
