PASIG BARANGAY ALLOCATES P500K FOR SCHOLARS

/ 25 January 2022

TO HELP students continue their education amid the pandemic, a barangay in Pasig City allocated P500,000 for its resident scholars.

Barangay San Antonio Chairman Raymond Lising ordered the release of checks for the barangay’s 110 college scholars.

Lising said the maximum amount given to a student is P25,000 for the 2nd semester of Academic Year 2021-2022.

Aside from shouldering their tuition and other fees, the barangay will also give each scholar P1,500 monthly allowance and free school supplies at the start of every school year.

To qualify for the program, a student must be a bona fide and permanent resident of the barangay and must show proof of the financial capacity of their parents such as income tax return.

The BSA scholarship program prioritizes indigent students or students whose families lack stable income.
