PAMPANGA’S INDIGENOUS AETA COMMUNITY GIVEN FREE INTERNET

/ 18 August 2020

THE DEPARTMENT of Education, with the help of Angeles City, Pampanga officials, has  installed free internet connection in Sitio Target, an Aeta community.

This developed following a dry run for radio-based instruction in the area.

Educational content or lessons were aired over GV 99.1, a local radio station, during the dry run.

Aside from the radio lessons, students will also use printed modules and online resources.

The local government also donated 48,000 tablets for the students which were availed of from the P5 million Special Education Fund.

This initiative of the DepEd and the local government unit targets to reach learners from the city’s 53 public schools and will give priority to families who can’t afford to buy gadgets for their children under the  blended learning method.
