NAVOTAS Representative Toby Tiangco lauded President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for issuing an executive order providing for the P7,000 annual medical allowance for public school teachers and other government employees.

Tiangco said Executive Order 64 shows the President’s concern for the health of teachers and other public servants.

Marcos made the promise in his previous State of the Nation Address.

According to Tiangco, it’s not just a promise because the President does what he says.

About 900,000 public school teachers nationwide will benefit from the medical allowance.

The annual medical allowance is apart from the P5,000 tax-free teaching allowance this year, which will be P10,000 in the school year 2025-2026.

An increased annual medical allowance of P 7,000 from the previous P 500 will be introduced for government employees, which includes educators, aimed at subsidizing health maintenance organization-type benefits for eligible personnel.
