OVER 500 YOUTH LEADERS GATHER FOR 2025 YOUTH COVENANT FOR ELECTION

/ 6 May 2025

MORE than 500 youth leaders and representatives from various organizations gathered for an event hosted by Kabataan Partylist, marking the launch of the 2025 Youth Covenant—a bold commitment to a 10-point youth agenda ahead of the national and local elections.

Held in Quezon City, the gathering brought together a broad coalition of youth advocates and political aspirants who pledged to uphold and campaign for platforms focused on education, labor rights, social justice, and national development.

The 10-point agenda aim to push forward genuine change through the empowerment and mobilization of the youth sector.

The event featured a covenant signing ceremony where several senatorial candidates publicly vowed to support the agenda.

Among those who signed were France Castro, Alyn Andamo, Jerome Adonis, Amirah Lidasan, and Kiko Pangilinan through a representative.

Other members of the Makabayan slate, though not physically present, expressed their full endorsement via official representatives.

The 10-point youth agenda include: the right to free and quality education; sufficient wages and quality jobs; national sovereignty; pro-people agrarian reform and industrial development; adequate and affordable healthcare for all; accessible and adequate basic social services; public accountability and an end to impunity; just and lasting peace; addressing the climate crisis; and the eradication of gender-based discrimination.

Kabataan Partylist First Nominee and Spokesperson Atty. Renee Co emphasized the power of youth participation in shaping the nation’s future.

“Ang deserve na kinabukasan, keri ng kabataan! Hindi tayo aasa lang sa mga personalidad o mga nasa kapangyarihan para abutin ang tunay na pagbabago. Nothing can stop the youth: we are the future! Sama-sama nating ipanalo ang tunay na boses ng kabataan sa lahat ng antas ng gobyerno at sa labas pa nito ay maging pag-asa ng bayan sa kapwa Pilipino,” Co said.

The 2025 Youth Covenant marks a significant step in solidifying youth influence in the electoral process as Kabataan Partylist and its allies work to ensure that the youth agenda remains at the heart of the nation’s political discourse.
