SOME 3,309,923 learners already signed up for the early registration of the Department of Education.

As of April 29, Kindergarten students’ registry already reached 725,626; 1,182,963 for Grade 1 students; 758,135 for Grade 7 students; and 643,199 for Grade 11 students for School Year 2022-2023.

The biggest number of registrants were from Region 4-A with 300,401, followed by Region 7 with 299,801, and Region 5 with 264,407.

DepEd said Grades 2 to 6, 8 to 10, and 12 are exempted from early registration since they are already registered.

The agency urged private schools to hold its early registration activities at the same time.

“As we are set to conduct early registration, we remind our school authorities from both public and private schools to strictly implement the Kindergarten cut-off age under DO 020, s. 2018,” DepEd secretary Leonor Briones said.

The early registration was until April 30.
