NO CASES of Covid19 have been reported in schools since the start of in-person classes, the Department of Education said on Thursday.

DepEd Spokesperson Michael Poa said that they have been coordinating with field offices to monitor the Covid19 situation in schools nationwide.

“Sa ngayon po, after verifying with the field offices, wala pa po tayong reported na nagkaroon ng Covid19 since the start of the classes pati na rin sa teaching and non-teaching staff,” he said.

Poa said that the DepEd and Department of Health are collaborating regarding students’ Covid19 vaccination status.

The department earlier said that students who contract the virus once face-to-face classes begin will be excused from their classes.

“Doon sa assistance sa mga estudyante, basically, ang magagawa lang natin is ma-excuse sila sa classes nila as soon as may sintomas,” Poa said.
