THE NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office will deploy 9,500 of its personnel to ensure the safety of students when classes resume next week.

“Kapag bumalik iyong face-to-face [classes] na iyan, marami tayong ide-deploy pero hindi naman 24 hours. Pagpasok ng mga estudyante natin, nandiyan iyong mga pulis natin. Makikita ninyo. Babantayan natin,”” NCRPO chief Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo said.

Estomo said the deployment of police officers will help prevent street crimes.

“Gagawin natin as a crime prevention [method]. Kapag sila naman ay lumabas sa mga klase, nandiyan ang mga pulis natin because I presume kapag nasa loob na ng campus, they are safe dahil kahit papaano, meron tayong tiwala sa mga security guard,” Estomo said.

Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. ordered all police units nationwide to implement security measures in preparation for the start of face-to-face classes on August 22.
