MARIKINA’S YOUNG LEADERS RECOGNIZED
HOUSE Speaker Martin Romualdez lauded the 20 awardees of the first-ever Marikina Youth Leadership Award for their academic excellence and extraordinary leadership.
The MYLA is an initiative of the Office of Rep. Stella Luz Quimbo that recognizes the youth’s leadership and academic prowess.
The awardees were chosen from Marikina’s public elementary and secondary schools.
“I commend Teacher Stella’s foresight in spotlighting these dual achievers, for they are truly the city’s pride. These individuals … embody the principles of MYLA: valuing others, extending help to those in need, and playing a pivotal role in community building. They are not just leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of today,” Romualdez said.
“To the awardees: Your recognition today is a testament to your hard work, commitment and the values you hold dear. Beyond the certificate and the gift you will receive, may you carry the essence of this award with you – that in every action, in every decision, you have the power to create a ripple of positive change in your community,” he added.
He enjoined the awardees to “continue to shine, lead and inspire.”
“Today, our MYLA awardees show us that our city’s future remains in capable, compassionate hands,” the lawmaker said.
