A FEDERATION of private schools expressed hope on Tuesday that the next administration will address issues and concerns faced by the private education.
“With a landslide victory, Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte have much to prove as everyone is hopeful for better education during their governance. It has been proved that people love the tandem a lot, now it is their turn to love them back,” Eleazardo Kasilag, president of the Federation of Associations of Private Schools and Administrators, said in a statement.
“I know they will work for the best solutions to address issues in the private education,” Kasilag added.
He said they want to hear the government’s full recognition of private schools as education partner.
“Teachers are the academic front liners in the classrooms. But private school teachers are in dimension not as lucky as the public school teachers,” Kasilag said.
“There is faulty mindset that private schools are prosperous. In fact, private schools have become marginalized and we are folding up owing to migration of teachers and students to public schools,” he added.
Private schools, he said, have been left out, scrimping for crumbs on public schools’ banquet.
“Therefore, we also appeal for inclusion of the pre-school and elementary in the voucher and share in the Special Education Fund,” Kasilag said.
