/ 29 January 2022

THE CITY government of Manila is ready to vaccinate children aged 5 to 11 on February 4.

Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said that officials are waiting for the approval of the Department of Health and the National Task Force Against Covid19 for the implementation of the program.

The city government plans to administer the vaccination in Manila Zoo and Ospital ng Maynila.

“Tapos na ‘yung plano. Confirmed na tayo na we are ready. Aantabayanan na lang natin na hopefully dumating ‘yung Pfizer o ‘yung bakuna,” Domagoso said.

The mayor gave assurances that vaccinating children below 11 years old is safe, noting that it has been recommended by the World Health Organization, the Department of Health, and other health experts.

“So, huwag po tayong mangamba. We were assured that the vaccine would be safe. Mas delikado kung walang bakuna,” he said.

Domagoso bared that over 10,500 children aged 5 to 11 have registered for the inoculation program.
