MANILA PREPARED FOR COVID CASES IN SCHOOLS

/ 24 August 2022

THE CITY of Manila is prepared to handle Covid19 cases in schools during the holding of face-to-face classes, Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said.

“May isolation rooms po tayo, mga medical frontliners, and magpapalagay tayo ng vaccination team just in case po na mayroong gustong magpabakuna habang nandito po sila, tutal nandito na lahat ng mga bata, puwedeng magpabakuna,” Lacuna-Pangan said.

Only a maximum of 35 students will be allowed per class. Some schools will hold one day of online classes and four days of in-person learning.

Safety officials will check classrooms before, during and after lessons to make sure that safety and health protocols are followed.

To stop learners from going outside the school grounds, Lacuna-Pangan said that students must have their meals or snacks with them when they enter the building.

Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto inspected some schools on opening of classes.

The mayor encouraged students to get vaccinated against Covid19.
