TO HELP learners in their studies, the city government of Manila distributed financial aid to the beneficiaries of the Educational Assistance Program.

Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah ‘Honey’ Lacuna-Pangan, along with the city’s Department of Social Welfare Director Ma. Asuncion Fugoso, handed out a total of P3,370,000 to 674 recipients from districts 1, 4, and 6.

The distribution was held on Thursday at San Andres Sports Complex.

“Makakaasa po kayo na ang pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila ay gagawin at mag-iisip ng mga paraan para lalong maibsan ang napakabigat na suliranin, dahil hanggang ngayon ay nasa ilalim pa rin po tayo ng state of health emergency,” the mayor said.

The city government said this was only the first of four batches of distribution.

More than 2,000 students from the city are expected to receive the financial aid.
