LANAO DEL Norte Representatives Abdullah Dimaporo and Mohamad Kahlid Dimaporo filed a measure seeking to establish a campus of the Mindanao State University in the municipality of Munai.

In their House Bill 9428, the Dimaporos said the poor but deserving students in the municipality will benefit from the opening of a new campus. Students can learn business, public administration, entrepreneurship and sciences, they added.

The Mindanao State University has 11 collegiate campuses in eight provinces in Mindanao.

It has 127 undergraduate programs and 85 graduate programs.

“As one of the country’s premiere university, Mindanao State University has continued to provide the country with topnotch professionals in various fields,” the lawmakers said in their explanatory note.

House Bill 9428 mandates the Board of Regents of MSU to lead the way for the establishment of the MSU-Munai Campus.

The Board of Regents shall have full authority to determine the instruction, research, extension programs, schedule of preparatory and initial operations, organizational structure, qualifications and number of academic and other personnel, enrolment and other matters.
