/ 22 June 2022

ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro vowed to step up the fight for teachers’ salary increase in the 19th Congress.

Castro took her oath of office before Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Marvic Mario Victor Leonen for her 3rd term as ACT Teachers representative in Congress.

She also vowed to push for adequate support for education; combat the spread of disinformation, historical distortion, and denialism and protect the rights and welfare of teachers.

“We will step up our fight for the rights and welfare of the teachers in the public and private sector as the genuine voice of teachers in Congress. We will also fight for truth and combat historical distortion and denialism,” Castro said.

She added that teachers are frontliners amid the pandemic and they deserve a  substantial salary increase.
