LAWMAKER URGES GRADUATES TO USE EDUCATION FOR NATION-BUILDING, FIGHT INJUSTICE
SENATOR Francis Pangilinan has urged new college graduates to use their education, knowledge, and skills in serving the Filipino people and helping build a better nation.
Speaking at the commencement exercises of National University Baliwag, Pangilinan congratulated the graduates on reaching a major milestone but challenged them to make meaningful contributions to society.
Addressing future engineers, entrepreneurs, developers, counselors, and public servants, the senator said the true strength of their generation lies in unity.
He encouraged the graduates to work together and use their platforms to promote stories of courage, kindness, and integrity. Pangilinan also urged them to speak out against injustice and take action to help those who are oppressed.
The senator said young professionals should use their education to help address pressing national issues, including the growing threat of disinformation in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
Referring to the graduation theme, “Sidlak: Shining Beyond Limits,” Pangilinan underscored the vital role of the youth in shaping culture, addressing societal challenges, and driving innovation in business, technology, education, the arts, and government.
He also recalled his strong showing in Baliwag during the 2025 senatorial elections, where he placed third, saying it reflected the power of unity and shared purpose in shaping national leadership and driving change.
Pangilinan concluded by challenging the graduates to “shine brightest in this present darkness,” expressing confidence that despite difficult times, a brighter future lies ahead.
“Even if the night is dark, dawn will eventually break. Morning will come. No one should give up,” the senator said.
