LAWMAKER SEEKS CREATION OF TESDA DISTRICT OFFICE IN DAVAO CITY
DAVAO City 3rd District Rep. Isidro Ungab filed a measure that seeks to establish a Technical Education and Skills Development Authority district office in the city.
House Bill 6127 aims to provide training programs and services to more clients in the region.
Under the bill, the amount needed for the initial operation of the TESDA Davao City District shall be charged against the agency’s budget.
The lawmaker said that as the population grows, more Filipinos seek technical education and skills developement programs and services.
In Davao region, the TESDA Provincial office of Davao del Sur covers the City of Davao, which is one of the service areas with the most number of clients.
“The establishment of a district office in Davao City is clearly necessary in order to bolster TESDA Abot Lahat Program,” Ungab said in his explanatory note.
