KABATAAN Partylist Rep. Sarah Jane Elago on Friday pledged to push for the grant of subsidy for college students under the Bayanihan 3 bill which was approved by the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives.

Elago said the approval of the measure will ensure that Filipinos will continue to get assistance during the pandemic.

“We will be pushing for the inclusion of educational subsidies at the tertiary level and the safe return to face-to-face classes,” she said.

“May P5.6 billion subsidy para sa basic education students ngunit wala para sa kolehiyo, safe school reopening, at pagbabalik ng face-to-face classes. Itulak natin ang proposed amendments ng Kabataan Partylist para sa dagdag subsidiya,” Elago reiterated.

The lawmaker also batted for the grant of P100 emergency wage subsidy for workers.

She called on President Rodrigo Duterte to certify the Bayanihan bill as urgent.
