SENATOR GRACE Poe has filed a measure that aims to create a unified system for extending and processing scholarship grants, student loan programs, subsidies, bursaries and other financial support for the Filipino youth.

Senate Bill 1071 seeks to establish National Scholarship Commission to easily bring available, existing and free education to out of school children and youth and other qualified individuals.

Under the measure, the commission will be an inter-agency government body that will generate, safe-keep and update the comprehensive database of out of OSCY and other qualified individuals nationwide.

The commission will also identify and pin-point the reasons, issues or controversies that are keeping children and youth out of schools and formal education.

It will also reach out to the OSCY and other qualified individuals and gather information and data that could help them get back to formal education.

The measure also mandates the commission to proactively and effectively disseminate information regarding existing regular or special scholarships, educational grants and the like to OSCY and qualified individuals.
