BATANGAS 2nd District Rep. Gerville Luistro filed a measure that seeks to provide universal educational assistance to all senior high school, technical-vocational and college students.

House Bill 2277 or the Universal Educational Assistance to Senior High School Students Act aims to recognize the right of citizens to quality education.

The bill seeks to provide students enrolled in senior high school with additional assistance from the government.

“Like the Universal Healthcare Law, this measure aims to provide greater access to education,” Gonzales said.

The bill will encourage the young generation and their families to continue their education and bridge the gap between secondary and tertiary education.

The lawmaker said that the State shall undertake steps to extend financial assistance to all Senior High School students regardless of their families’ financial capabilities.
