LAWMAKER BATS FOR MAGNA CARTA OF OUT-OF-SCHOOL YOUTH

/ 13 November 2021

PARAÑAQUE City Representative Eric Olivarez filed a measure that seeks to provide protection to out-of-school youth.

House Bill 10347 or the proposed Magna Carta of Out-School-Youth seeks to ensure equal opportunities and create programs that will maximize their potential.

In filing the measure, Olivarez said it is the mandate of the State to adopt measures that will ensure that the rights of out-of-school youth are recognized and give support to the enhancement of their well-being.

“The continued increase of the number of out-of-school youth is alarming and should not be taken lightly as this will create a problematic impact in their future, their families and the country as well,” he said in his explanatory note.

The solon added that the government should help out-of-school youth maximize their potential.

“In coordination with a number of government agencies, this bill will become an effective tool in encouraging and assuring that the out-of-school youth of the country will become productive members of the society,” Olivarez said.
