LANDBANK READY TO COOPERATE IN NBI PROBE OVER PHISHING VICTIMIZING TEACHERS

LANDBANK of the Philippines vowed to cooperate with the National Bureau of Investigation for the alleged phishing scam that have victimized teachers.

“The Land Bank of the Philippines is welcoming the impending investigation by the National Bureau of Investigation on the alleged phishing schemes victimizing teachers, following a Department Order issued by the Department of Justice for the NBI to immediately intervene on the matter,” the bank said.

According to Landbank President and Chief Executive Officer Cecilia Borromeo, the bank will actively participate in the investigation and extend full cooperation to the NBI with the “end in mind of further securing the depositors’ hard-earned money.”

Borromeo also said the bank is currently doing its own investigation on the incident.

“We are also reaching out to the affected teachers and conducting an internal investigation on their complaints,” the CEO added.

Earlier, the teachers reportedly lost money amounting to P26,000 to P121,000 each.
