THE DEPARTMENT of Education has  released the suggested maximum hours of online screen time for kindergarten to Grade 12 students, ranging from one hour to four hours.

The maximum number of screen time will be one hour for kindergarten students, one and a half hours for Grades 1 to 5, two hours for Grades 6 to 8, and four hours for Grades 9 to 12.

The online classes for Grades 9 to 12 will be divided into two sessions, two hours in the morning and the rest in the afternoon.

Under the memorandum, students will have limited hours on using their gadgets for the online classes since synchronous and asynchronous modes of learning will be implemented.

DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua said that health will always be a priority in online classes.

“Tandaan, ang kalusugan at seguridad ng ating mga anak ay mahalaga kaya atin po itong pangalagaan,” he stressed.
