KIDS JOINING F2F CLASSES NOT REQUIRED TO WEAR FACE SHIELDS

/ 16 November 2021

STUDENTS who will join the pilot run of limited face-to-face classes are not required to wear face shields during class, the Department of Education said.

“Hindi po talaga requirement ang face shield sa loob ng classroom. Pero ‘yung face mask ay talagang importante na mapanatili nating nakasuot sa ating mga mag-aaral sa buong oras ng kanilang ilalagi,” DepEd Assistant Secretary Malcolm Garma said.

Only 12 to 15 students are allowed per classroom during the limited in-person classes, Garma said.

To ensure the safety of everyone during the rollout, students and teachers who will exhibit any Covid19 symptom shall undergo swab testing.

“Hindi kailangang i-test na positive, pero kapag lumabas na ang mga sintomas nila, ito na ‘yung gagawin agad natin,” he said.

The pilot implementation of in-person classes for 100 public schools started on Monday, November 15.
