IATF OKAYS STRATEGIES FOR NATIONWIDE PEDIATRIC VAX VS COVID19

/ 31 October 2021

THE INTER-AGENCY Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases approved the proposed strategies to encourage more minors get vaccinated for Covid19.

The National Task Force Against Covid19 earlier said it targets to vaccinate at least 80 percent of the 12.7 million children before the year ends.

“Inaprubahan ng inyong IATF ang mga istratehiya ng NTF at ng vaccination cluster para sa vaccination rollout for the rest of the pediatric population para maabot ang vaccination rate na 80 percent ng target population sa Disyembre 2021,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said in a press briefing.

On Friday, local government units outside Metro Manila started vaccinating minors with comorbidities aged 12 to 17.

The government is set to start the vaccination of minors with or without health risks on November 3, with its full implementation set to begin by Nov. 5.

Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje stressed the expansion of the pediatric vaccination aims to encourage other family members to get vaccinated and boost confidence in the resumption of in-person classes.

“Regular vaccination sites could be used, but local governments are urged to get bigger space to accommodate both children and parents and to allot a special lane or room for vaccinated children,” Cabotaje said.
