House Bill 6572 or the proposed Public Schools of the Future in Technology Act or the PSOFT Act was passed with 272 affirmative votes.

The bill will implement a PSOFT program in all public elementary and secondary schools with the goal of incorporating technological innovations and approaches into the teaching and learning processes.

The proposed law aims to establish a PSOFT Inter-Agency Task Force that will
develop a road map to ensure that programs and projects will improve educational quality through the use of digital technology.

Under the program, there will be a system of upgrading and replacing outdated technology to broaden and maximize the use of ICT to aid learning.

It will also ensure the provision of technical support and training to teachers and students.
