/ 20 December 2020

THE ROTARY Club of Mandaluyong-Pasig-San Juan installed hand washing stations in schools and other high-risk areas in San Juan City to help curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.

Hand washing stations were set up in the West Crame Elementary School and the Sta. Lucia Elementary School/Barangay Hall, San Perfecto Basketball Court, Police/ Fire Station/ Barangay Health Center, Onse Barangay Hall.

On Friday, the hand washing facility in West Crame school was inaugurated. Present during the event were Councilor Jana Ejercito and members of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong-Pasig-San Juan and the Rotary of The Netherlands, District 1560.

Rotary Club of Mandaluyong-Pasig-San Juan President Aileen Perez said the hand washing stations were installed in areas where people congregate.

“We identified the high-risk Covid areas in San Juan and we put up the hand washing stations in preparation for the Christmas season,” Perez said.

The group’s former president Oscar Bautista said the wash stations are foot operated for safety reasons.

“We do not want them to touch the faucet, that’s why it’s a foot operated,” Bautista said.

“We believe that hand washing is better than alcohol,” he added.

Ejercito thanked the Rotary group for donating the hand wash stations.

“This is a very big help for our city, so thank you very much and we look forward to work with you again,” she said.
