GOV’T  TO VACCINATE 144,131 MINORS IN NCR VS COVID19

THE GOVERNMENT aims to vaccinate 144,131 minors aged 15 to 17 in the National Capital Region against Covid19, an official of the Department of the Interior and Local Government said on Monday.

DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said that the pediatric vaccination will be expanded to other local government units in NCR on October 22 to 31.

“Pupunta naman tayo sa mga LGU-based hospitals. Magdaragdag po ng thirteen additional local hospitals doon sa mga nagsimula na sa national (NCR),” Malaya said at the Laging Handa press briefing.

“Bawat LGU po ay nag-identify ng isang local hospital para maisama sa pilot ng pediatric vaccination. Kasama ang Caloocan Medical Center, Ospital ng Parañaque, Pasay General Hospital, at iba pang hospitals na na-identify ng mga LGU,” he added.

The Philippines started giving jabs to minors on October 15.

The inoculation was held in the National Children’s Hospital, Philippine Heart Center, Pasig City Children’s Hospital, Fe Del Mundo Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital, Makati Medical Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center, and Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

Adolescents with underlying medical conditions such as medical complexity, genetic condition, neurologic conditions, metabolic or endocrine diseases, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, HIV Infection, tuberculosis, chronic respiratory disease, renal disorders, hepatobiliary disease, and immunocompromised due to disease or treatment were given priority.
