THE GOVERNMENT plans to vaccinate children aged 0 to 4 years against Covid19 in June, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez said.

There are 11.11 million children in this age group.

“Ito po ang ating mga objectives: Unang-una, to vaccinate 90 million Filipinos before the end of June 2022. Number two, provide 72.16 million boosters for adult population ages from 18 years old and above. Number three, vaccinate 12.74 million or 12-17 years old with boosters,” Galvez said.

“Number four, bakunahan din po natin ang 15.56 million na 5-11 years old with boosters. And also, we will vaccinate 11.11 million na 0-4 years old with primary series,” he added.

Galvez said the government will ensure ample supply of vaccines for children aged 0 to 4 years.

The government has ramped up its vaccination drive amid a fresh surge in infections believed driven by the Omicron variant.
