GOV’T TO ACCELERATE DELIVERY OF PFIZER VACCINES FOR KIDS AGED 5 TO 11

/ 7 January 2022

THE GOVERNMENT is working for the early delivery of vaccines for children so that the government can roll out the inoculation of kids as soon as possible, vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said.

Galvez said that he will talk to Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Romualdez to discuss the fast-tracking of the delivery of Pfizer doses for kids.

“Ipu-pursue natin ang vaccination of children from 5 to 11 years old when the formulated vaccine will arrive,” he said.

The Philippine Food and Drug Administration earlier approved the use of Pfizer’s Covid19 vaccine for kids aged 5 to 11.

The vaccines for children will be of lower dosage and concentration than those given to adults.

Galvez earlier said the government has secured 15 million doses of Pfizer vaccine that will be delivered in tranches until March.

The Philippines aims to vaccinate about 13.5 million kids below 11 years old against Covid19.
