FORMER TEACHER SETS UP ROLLING COMMUNITY PANTRY

/ 6 May 2021

LOSING her job did not deter a former teacher from helping others in need.

Lyra Royo, a former private school teacher, set up a ‘rolling community pantry’ for the homeless in Quezon City.

She uses her E-bike to provide rice, vegetables and other goods to her beneficiaries.

“Masaya po sila hindi lang dahil sa kanilang natanggap kundi dahil alam nila na kahit papaano ay may nakaalala at nagmamalasakit sa kanila,” she said.

Royo lost her job because of the pandemic.

Royo shared that she feels happy when she helps people.
