FOUR Filipino academicians established the Southville College in the United Arab Emirates.

The four are Francis Errol Medina, Dr. Rommel Pilapil Sergio, Dr. Benigno Lebig and Dr. Rex Venard Bacarra.

Sergio said it took them four years to set up a Philippine college in UAE.

Enrollment and reservations have begun. The campus is located in Ras Al Khaimah, an emirate north of Dubai.

The school will open in September next year.

The establishment of the school was seen as a welcome development for overseas Filipino workers who want to complete required units and obtain diplomas.

All four academicians have been bestowed the Dakilang Bayani Award. Sergio was a recipient of the 2016 Pamana ng Pilipino Presidential Award.
