F2F CLASSES IN MANILA SUSPENDED UNTIL FRIDAY

/ 25 April 2024

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan has extended the suspension of face-to-face classes in the city of Manila until April 26 due to extreme heat.

This was announced by the Manila Public Information Office on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

“Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan declares suspension of face-to-face classes for public and private schools in all levels for Thursday and Friday, April 25-26, 2024,” the announcement read.

Schools are being advised to conduct blended modality on Thursday and Friday due to “dangerous” heat.

“Schools are advised to shift to BLENDED MODALITY,” MPIO said.

“This is due to the forecasted danger heat index level of 44°C, according to the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office,” it added.

On Wednesday, 6,695 out of 47,678 schools in the country have implemented Alternative Delivery Modes, according to Department of Education.
