THE SECOND Congressional Commission on Education or EDCOM 2 has listed several bills as priorities, its legal officer said.

Atty. Joseph Noel Estrada said that EDCOM2’s priority bills include Senate Bill 1604 or the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning or ARAL Program Act, authored by EDCOM 2 Co-Chairperson Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.

The bill seeks to equip senior high school graduates with skills needed in the labor market.

The commission also listed House Bill 7584, authored by EDCOM 2 Co-Chairperson Representative Roman Romulo and which seeks to prohibit the No Permit, No Exam policy in schools, among the priorities.

Also included is House Bill 7370, authored by EDCOM 2 Co-Chairperson Representative Mark Go, which seeks to create a tripartite council attached to the Commission on Higher Education that will formulate and implement policies and programs specific to job-skills mismatch.

Estrada said they will support the enactment of these measures to improve the quality of education.
