PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law a measure that will declare Batangas State University as the national engineering university in the country.

Under Republic Act 11694, also known as the Revised Batangas State University Charter, BSU shall provide a leadership role in shaping a new version of engineering education.

The law will further strengthen and expand the school’s 46 degree programs to include an even wider range of fields in engineering in both graduate and undergraduate levels.

It will also boost efforts to produce professionals through pioneering programs such as aerospace, biomedical, transportation, geological, geodetic, naval architecture and marine engineering, as well as ceramics, metallurgical, materials, earthquake and energy, among others.

The university will also lead in creating a better environment for Filipino engineering experts and professionals.

Duterte also signed RA 11695 which strengthens the Tarlac State University.
