THE KABATAAN Party-list wants the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte held accountable for neglecting the youth’s right to education amid the pandemic.

The group issued the statement after the President expressed support to the resumption of face-to-face classes as the number of Covid19 cases in the country declined.

“After two years of ineffective, burdensome and costly distance learning, ngayon lang niya na-realize?” Kabataan Partylist National President Raoul Manuel said.

“Pilipinas na lang ang bansa sa mundo kung saan majority ng schools ay nakasara pa rin. Ang dahilan? Hindi seryoso ang national government sa pagbubukas! Pinapabayaan ang pinuno ng mga paaralan at LGU kung paano nila bubuksan ang mga kampus,” Manuel added.

The group said that the education platforms of candidates, especially those running for president, are vital in ensuring and fast-tracking the safe opening of schools nationwide.
