THE Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute has granted its approval to several exceptional graduate students of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

Through DOST-SEI’s Technology Regional Alliance of Universities for National Development program, eight students are benefiting from the scholarship.

These are Engr. John Philip Camayang (MSCE-Structural Engineering); Engr. Djonrae Galvez (MSCE-Structural Engineering); Engr. Ana Marie Rapanut (MSCE-Structural Engineering); Engr. Roberto Rosario (MSCE-Transportation Engineering); Edriane Nacin (MSIT); McRinsey Gulane (MS Biology); Hairon Jake Troy Reyes (MS Biology); and Jan Ross Reyes (MS Biology).

On the other hand, PUP professor Engr. Joseph Raniel Bianes was awarded a faculty fellowship in De La Salle University Manila for his doctorate degree.

Bianes is currently taking PhD in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources Engineering.

PUP is among the members of the consortium universities collaborating under the STRAN-D program.

The collaboration opens up opportunities for graduate scholarships in STEM programs, particularly in the following fields:

• MS in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering
• MS in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering
• MS in Information Technology
• Master of Science in Biology (for lateral entry)

“PUP encourages its community, especially those in the Science and Technology fields, to take advantage of this remarkable graduate scholarship opportunity,” the school said.

“The university is optimistic that this accomplishment will further promote the excellence of its programs in the Graduate School, inspiring more scholars to join the ranks of STRAND-N,” it added.
