DOLE, UP COLLEGE OF LAW TEAM UP FOR PARALEGAL TRAINING

/ 16 April 2024

THE Department of Labor and Employment, University of the Philippines College of Law and UP Law Center have collaborated for the paralegal training program on labor rights.

According to DOLE, it rooted in the Memorandum of Agreement signed by DOLE and UP in 2023 which was designed to empower trade unionists and their members with the knowledge and tools necessary to better protect themselves while navigating the complexities of labor laws and workers’ rights, verify facts, prepare statements, look for leads, and respond effectively to reported violations.

DOLE said that training syllabus aims to provide an immersive learning experience covering the spectrum of labor laws.

“The training is also an opportunity to safeguard the rights to self-organize, ensure prompt legal actions, and enhance the operational effectiveness of monitoring bodies,” the agency said.

The said program was officially launched in April 11.
